Meet Our Professionals
Glen worked in Steel Production in the Melt Shop in entry-level management until 1980. Then he was promoted to shift supervisor. In 1990 he became General Foreman of Melting and Casting. Chaparral built a second plant in Petersburg, Virginia, in 1999. He was promoted to Superintendent of Melting at that time. In 2004 he was promoted to Plant Manager when TXI spun their steel holdings off, and Chaparral became a stand-alone public company traded on Nasdaq. The stocks opened at $8.00 per share. The market became very strong following its restructuring project. They had three years of strong sales, and with the Virginia plant starting to produce, they reported strong earnings. The company became a target for acquisition as the stock price grew from $8.00 to the high $60.00 range. The company was sold in 2007. Glen stayed with the new owner as Vice-President and Plant Manager for five years. He decided to retire in 2012, pursuing new challenges.
